My Story
I was born in Gibraltar to Indian parents who'd left their homeland of Sind after the partition of India. I spent my formative years growing up in New York City, until we moved back to Gibraltar, where I finished school with A-Levels and travelled to the UK to study in England.

After attempting to do a very difficult degree in Engineering, I left university without a degree, but I met the love of my life. I fell into a career in pensions and finance and worked in this field until my husband and I had children, and the 2008 recession hit.

I took time out to stay home with my children, but longed to go back to University to try studying a degree in something more creative. I finished my degree in 2014 in Film Studies, Philosophy and Creative Writing. I then went on to do a Master's Degree in Global Film and Television Studies.

During this time, I had also begun volunteering as the Marketing Manager for my local theatre. When my children were ready for me to go back to work full-time, I went into an entry-level job as a Digital Marketing Assistant and began my most enjoyable and satisfying career.

In my spare time, I'm an amateur actress and I sing, dance and act at my local community theatre. I am also active in local politics, and I'm hoping to become a councillor for local government, and I should have parliamentary approval soon, so that I can run for MP too!
My Digital Marketing Career

Jun 2021 - Dec 2021
Jan 2022 - Nov 2022
Dec 2022 - Aug 2023
Sep 2023 - Jan 2024

As a Digital Marketing Assistant for an education services company, I went in at the deep end to run their social media, as well as designing and publishing newsletters for all of their departments.
I did a short paternity cover position as a Community Manager for a B2B social media agency, where I replied and commented to social media posts for big pharma and animal feed companies.
I went back to the education services company to do a maternity cover for my former Marketing Manager until she could return to her position. I managed the team of four that had been put together after I left the company previously and during this time, helped the wider marketing team with a huge rebrand.
I got another maternity cover as a Marketing Manager for a school catering company, where I helped them push their social media to the next level and worked with an external agency to do a highly successful rebrand.
I worked as a Marketing Manager for an amazing business centre and start-up charity, but it turned out to be too far from home. As much as I appreciated the permanent job, I was burning out and needed to reassess my situation.
I started Jaysica Marketing to allow me the flexibility I needed. This came at the right time in my life, and I'm so pleased to be able to carry on doing the work I do on my own terms.
